Sail Away, luxury style!

Architectural Digest featured this 65 foot wood hulled sailboat that was hand built on Martha's Vineyard. While most boats this size are traditionally built out of fiberglass or metal, wood boats seem to made only by craftsmen such as Gannon & Benjamin, which was their largest vessel to date. This was the owner's 40th birthday present to himself, an avid sailor and since owning this boat has won quite a few international regattas. What a great way for this family of 4 to travel and enjoy time together sailing!

Even if you don't have a 65ft wooden sailboat, you can still have nautical style!

Vintage Bathroom Inspirations with a Twist

I came across Kohler's Tresham line which had such a cute gallery of inspirations for a vintage English cottage bathroom complete with pink Hunter wellies, vintage photos, trunks and Union Jack bathmats. Hope you find some inspiration and enjoy!

This almost looks like a bedroom with a bathtub and sinks thrown in. Love the herringbone flooring too!

The masculine version of this bathroom complete with vintage pictures and throws

Cute inspiration for a smaller bathroom, love how the mirror has a similar curvature as the wallpaper design.

All those vintage books

Ballet jellies that match the bath mat, so cute!

Mini vintage perfume bottles by the sink

With a bathroom this cute, it's not hard to have fun getting ready!

India Hicks-Island Girl

Veranda June 2011 featured India Hicks gorgeous Hibiscus Hill Bahamian home.

This British-born style and decorating maven was born with style in her blood. Her father, famed interior decorator, David Hicks, was renowned for creating what he termed, "tablescapes" and Hicks has used this to create "mini-museum" of disparate eccentric objects in their house.

She is the goddaughter to the Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) and was one of the bridesmaids for Princess Diana's royal wedding, her first modeling job was with Ralph Lauren, she has published two books: Island Life and Island Beauty, launched a beauty collection with Crabtree & Evelyn, hosted Bravo Reality show, Top Design, has ran three full marathons and now has launched India Hicks fine jewelry collection. What an impressive line-up.

Here is a glimpse in the artfully decorated house of India Hicks at Hibiscus Hill

"we never drift too far from our DNA: a combination of international lives, classic British taste, including its eccentricities, and the flavor of the Caribbean"...India Hicks

Top, is the playhouse for Hicks four children designed by their father painted red, white and blue after the Union Jack; Bottom right, the beautiful India Hicks with her daughter, Domino.

Gallery of art bring global allusions to this island house; Tablescape with dark wood and reds and corals.

Breezy guest bedroom complete with cover-up, beach towels and straw hat.

Exterior of Hibiscus Hill that was built in the 1950's but was endeavored to make the villa look like it was built in the 1850's.

Shade pergola perfect for mid day nap

India's travels on safari in Africa was inspiration for the formal table to be outside and open, set with fresh pineapples, symbolizing hospitality.

Left: David Hicks masculine study in Mahogony with sailboat model and seascapes; Right: dining room with antique furniture found on her travels to New Orleans and more pineapples.

Classic Caribbean low key style mixed with the French antique mantel and mirror.

India's desk holds one of her favorite mementos on her desk tablescape: a rose from Princess Diana's bridal bouquet (India was one of Diana's flower girls);  Bedroom walls covered by hand-colored tropical bird prints dated 1820 to reinforce the feeling of a period plantation house. A traditional cotton canopy dresses the four-poster bed.

Antique bed nestles in a nook amid hand-colored English prints.

Dream of staying in a luxurious island house decorated by India Hicks? Check out her site for a few rentals at Hibiscus Hill Harbor Island that are decorating with her amazing touch:

Next up from Target? Missoni

Boy I was excited when I posted about the Calypso St Barths items coming to Target in May. But, what better way to bring in the fall season than with a 400+ piece collection of Missoni items to Target during Sept 13-Oct. 22. The collection will include everything from clothing (men's, women's and kids'), to dinnerware, bikes, luggage and bedsheets from $2.99-$599.99 (could that be a sofa perhaps?). So if you are a fan of Missoni's trademark colorful zig zag line and either want to start your collection or add on to your current, then mark your calendar! I don't know how I missed out on this news when it was released May! Still no official lookbook has been released showcasing the items and images have been under tight wraps, but here is a little preview.

Colorful Cottage

I happened to come across this amazing waterfront cottage at Lake Simcoe from Style At Home that used blue, white and coral color scheme everywhere from the interiors and accessories to the outside. The basic scheme is blue and white with coral accessories thrown in...from pillows, blankets, flowers. I just love all of these!

Blue lounge chairs are shaded by perfectly places coral umbrellas and coral striped towels. Do the drinks come with coral colored umbrellas too?

Blue couches with white piping and colorful throw pillows

I love the opposite here with white couches and navy piping, using the same pillows for consistency

Navy built in cabinets really pop against the stark while walls

Now this is where you would find me most of the day.

Different take on the white and blue using darker woods
