Chinoiserie Blue & White Pumpkins

Mann, it's been a crazy year for us with travels, getting our house ready to sell, selling our house (which happened very quickly), then packing up, and moving to temporary housing until we find our next home!

So what amazing find did I come across that brought me back to posting? Ahhh, I'm so excited to share these chinoiserie pumpkin designs I saw at Town & Country! You know I LOVE blue and white everything, so I saw these pumpkins and thought what a great idea! I think I want to try to make one, but should I do it on a real one or the "fake" ones? So if you have a down weekend, grab yourself a white pumpkin, and some navy paint pens/Sharpies and draw away!

These are some of the pumpkins available for purchase from Indigo Home at Etsy. She also has some other great chinoiserie items such as adorable blue & white dog bowls (and she has a Cavalier King Charles too!)

That Southern Chick made a few designs. She studied some chinoiserie prints and  took some of her favorite elements and applied them to her pumpkins.

These beautiful pumpkins were completed by Karolyn of the Relished Roost and she also sells her pumpkins as well.

These customized pumpkins were made for dinner party guests from Pretty Pink Tulips

These pumpkins were featured on Enchanted Home's blog and were painted by Karolyn of the Relished Roost

I love this top view of the pumpkins which truly shows all the great detail.

Here are some inspirations to get some pattern ideas or add to your blue & white collection!

Blue & White Porcelain Archives

Veranda featured some archives of Blue and White porcelain and as you know blue and white is my fave so I just had to share! Some of these images may be oldies but goodies, but there were a few new ones on here that I had not seen yet, so it was a nice surprise!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

When I think of beautiful blooms on the wall, I conjure up the images of the exquisite rich hand painted  wallcoverings from de Gournay. Some of our favorite designers such as Miles Redd, Amanda Nisbet and Kelly Wearstler have all used de Gournay. My favorite floral design is their Earlham design, which was also used in the jewelry department at Bergdorf Goodman. Hope these beautiful blooming walls get you in the May spirit! Can you believe its May already?

Another design known as the "Askew" which Kelly Wearstler used for the Bergdorf restaurant

Jack Fhilips

I remember first coming across Jack Fhilips work in Trad Home for a remodel down in South Palm Beach/Lantana area and loved his work using assorted blues and whites for this intercoastal house. Here are some more great pictures of his work!

Benjamin Dhong: San Francisco Row House

What do you get when you have a 40 year conservative British investment banker client who says he wants  über über modern decor, yet drives an Aston Martin and wears bespoke suits? Well, in the client's case, be glad he hired the perfect designer!

The ever amazing Benjamin Dhong once again creates a masterpiece for this San Francisco row house perfectly blending elements to create a cosmopolitan, collected, European feel with strong doses of modern to keep it fresh for his client! I love Dhong's great use of color, wall coverings, textures, and metallic touches. We are taken on a historical journey of worldly inspirations from Greek architectural accents, Italian lighting, Moroccan tables, French Faux Bois, Chinese Chinoiserie, and Indian landscape wallpaper. Hope you enjoy!

Dhong designed this foyer channeling the grandeur of English country houses. The convex mirror features entwined dolphins which during the 18th century became a symbol for England's hegemony over the seas.

50's Italian candelabra paired with more modern style striped rug that was pieced together from carpet remnants provides vibrancy and fun energy since the client passes through this room daily.

This room does not get a lot of light, so Dhong chose a gilded wallpaper, Margot by Sandberg, to reflect light. Notice the ceiling color and trim.

Gray walls covered in Kneedler Fauchère’s Fine Hemp, a color and fabric choice perfect for the gentleman who loves suits, not to mention the coffee table book paying an homage to one of the greatest iconic fashion designers.

Tiled boat painting and walnut commode with gilt feet  in the upstairs hall.

Nobellis Faux Bois wallpaper, the sink's branch pedestal and fresh flowers bring in natural elements to this powder room.

Perfectly balanced living room

Two banquettes line the wall in this cheery family room making it easy to go from dining to lounging.

Wooden urn adds a classical counterpoint against the modern Jeff Koons Balloon Dog plate

Dhong's travels to Marrakech inspired this room with wall of antiqued mirrors, velvet banquette, and inlaid pearl Moroccan tables.

A neutral palette was the base for this bedroom with color being added with accessories. The straight angles of the bold poster bed is offset with the curves of the porthole mirror and the glass murano circles on the lamps.

Another view of the master bedroom and to contrast the tan and beige palette, Dhong added this floating white sculptured Eames La Chaise.

Space Age office with antique chair paired with Aviator Wing desk which is inspired after a WWII fighter plane. The Philip Jeffries rivets wallpaper inspired from vintage metal fighter planes.

Orange duvet and blanket adds pop of color against the neutral palette.

Beautiful table styling complete with vintage lighter, delicate bowl and great pop of color from flower bloom.

Chinoiserie daybed coined the "opium den" with the Indian wallpaper complete with a more modern Jonathan Adler Hans barbell brass table.
