Showcasing your collection

I found some inspirational photos using glass cabinets to showcase your collection. Whether it's shoes, collectibles, white ware, bar ware, or whatever your heart desires. I love how these cabinets don't take away from the beauty of what they are showcasing! Do you have something special you collect that you showcase in a cabinet?

Blue and Orange Inspirations

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Thing have been hectic at work and home! I have 2 trips planned within the next month, college football season just started and with the cooler weather we have been doing lot around the house! Here are some pretty blue and orange color rooms! Do you love orange during the fall? Right now I feel weird wearing black and orange together so I don't look like Halloween. :)

Mums and mini pumpkins with your blue and white is a great way to bring in Fall.

Horizontal Shower

Have you seen the new luxurious horizontal shower from German manufacturer, Dornbracht? The six bars of water provide different shower effects via Ambiance Tuning Technology (now that sounds relaxing) that provide different pre-programmed choreographies in water temperature, intensity and quantity. The luxury stone you lay on can be temperature controlled via remote! Talk about bringing the spa to your home! Does this mean you could potentially sleep an extra 5 minutes in the morning in the shower? What are your thoughts?

Cremone Bolts

Cremone bolts are like architectural jewelry for doors, windows or cabinets. I love the intricacy with the thin line rod running the vertical length and the delicate handle.

Nina Garcia's NYC Apartment

Architectural Digest recently featured the interior of Nina Garcia's Upper East Side Apartment, which was renovated and decorated by Carlos Aparicio of Aparico + Associates. I was excited to see how this fashion maven would decorate her apartment. Nina Garcia is the fashion director at Marie Claire, judge on Project Runway and author.

The luxurious closet of Garcia who travels the world and sits front row at fashion shows. To complete her closet, notice the Salvador Dali art on the wall.

Here are a few of Garcia's fashion picks from her Pinterest for Fall 2012

Pecky Cypress

I love the look of Pecky Cypress wood as its natural beauty gives a natural driftwood type seaside color and texture.  The sponge-like texture is actually created by a fungus that attacks the wood making the oblong pockets and the longer the pockets, the older the wood is. Ironically, you don't know if the tree has this fungus until the tree is cut down. Architect, Bobby McAlpine is the king of using pecky cypress.
