Well-Traveled Home

The newly released interior book, Well-Traveled Home by designer, Sandra Espinet from is a great storybook with lots of great photography of interiors decorated with accents from worldly travels. The native of the beautiful, Caribbean island, Trinidad and Tobago; she is now an interior designer in LA and Los Cabos and her clients are the beneficiaries of her extensive world travels.

“The essence of my interior design work seeks to reflect the evolving interplay of the domestic and the international, while remaining true to my intent to create alluring family living spaces and home environments.”

Sandra Espinet is a lifelong gypsy whose extensive world travels produce “finds” of exquisitely wrought artisanal furniture, dramatic artworks and exotic accessories that are put to beautiful use in interiors. From Middle Eastern inlaid bone chests, Thailand carvings, Moroccan pottery, Mexican travertine, silk brocade from India, Persian Heriz rugs, Iranian velvets and more.

Pick up a copy of this book and let your mind travel the world and see these beautiful interiors and read the inspiring stories behind some of these images. No passport required. What a great hostess gift this would make if you are staying with someone.

In the entrance an old church bench, antique olive jars from Spain, and a mirror found in San Miguel de Allende all give this space a Spanish Colonial historical style.

An ornate octagonal Moroccan table adorns this relaxing outdoor terrace.

Great collage of artifacts found from her worldy travels that can be used as accents, notice the great fabrics underneath.

The beautiful author, Sandra Espinet

Mariette Himes Gomez

I was watching Bethenny Ever After and saw she is remodeling her new apartment she purchased from her crazy 9 figure sale of Skinny Girl Margaritas. She chose the "Gomez Girls" mother and daughter team Mariette Himes Gomez the upper east side designers as decorators for the apartment. I decided to check out their work and share some of my favorite photos. Can't wait to see the final result! Wonder if it will be colorful or have any red accents which Bethenny is known for.

Phoebe Howard's Book

I know a lot of my readers are fans of Phoebe Howard's work. She has finally completed her coffee table book, The Joy of Decorating which you can pre-order right now for 20% off and March delivery at Mrs. Howard's Personal Shopper. Bonus gift: A pocket sized chart of Phoebe's favorite paint colors!
I am glad the cover of the book is with my fave blue and white.

This would go lovely next to my A Passion for Blue and White book I got for Christmas!

What is your favorite interiors coffee table book?

I can't wait to see what new images are the book that we haven't seen. Here are a few of my favorite blue and white Phoebe Howard pictures:

Natural Curiosities Octopus print and the infamous ink blue lacquered walls

Blue and white mixed prints from her husband, James Michael Howard

Another assortment of various blue and white prints with a simple floral touch to not be so nautical and masculine themed.

Assorted plants in blue and white containers center this room, and love the symmetry of the pillows and garden stools.

Art of Instruction

What do you get when you cross Natural Curiosities and Redoute? This newly released Art of Instruction book is nature's version of eye candy which features vintage 19th and 20th Century educational drawings that showcases beauty in "unlikely places from potato vines to jellyfish. From the anatomy of a tulip or an apple tree to that of a hedgehog or starfish, the botanical and zoological images are captivating with their curious visuals and intricate details." The black backgrounds were used so the school children in the back row could clearly see the images.

This collection features 100 plus charts collected by author, Katrien Van der Schueren who has collected these images for over a decade. She is also the owner of Voila! Gallery in Los Angeles.

Check out some of the images:
Heather: Calluna vulgaris

Potato: Solanum tuberosum

Meadow Saffron: Colchicum autumnale

Jellyfish: Aurelia aurita
