Chic Beach House

Hello world, I am back to reality!!! I was out of the country for 10 days on vacation! I set up my July 4th post ahead of time and scheduled it to post in my absence, so I am glad that worked!!!

As I get back into the swing of things, I wanted to share a few awesome photos I came across today on House Beautiful of his 1,650 sf weekend home in California by designers,  Erin Martin and Kim Dempster. Check out all the great nautical accents!

Buoy lights and linen french chairs

Old nautical chain coffee table, and large clam shell accent!

Vintage pull down map purchased on ebay is used to hide the tv

Master bedroom with high ceilings

Rope knot curtains and blue slag glass on coffee tables look like seaglass

Large root table painted white acts as make shift vanity

Nautical bunk bed space with porthole mirror
Nautical inspired bathroom with brass fixtures, lacquered striped walls

Outdoor entertaining and dining area

The living room fireplace was inspired by the work of sculptor Louise Nevelson. It's composed of scraps of wood from the project and various woodworkers' shops.

Exterior of the house perched upon a wild flower covered hill

What a view!

  5. That was a fun issue. I liked that they actually showed small houses in their "small spaces" issue.
