John Derian's NYC Apartment

I was dying to see the interiors of John Derian's East Village apartment, thinking it would like walking inside a living Natural Curiosities display. I saw his awesome display at Bergdorf's a few years and was mesmerized with all his neat découpage antique style trays and paperweights featuring botanicals, animals, insects, vintage maps and cities, quotes, etc! It's hard to choose a favorite.Check out the beautiful interior images of Derian's home captured by The Selby.

Bring a little Tobi into your home

I love Tobi Fairley for her bright colors, great use of lighting, fabric, and accessories adding that perfect finishing touch. Tobi Fairley Home has finally launched which includes fabrics she is known for using but with a slight twist, such as the Greek key which has a "T" design, magnified houndstooth and a chinoiserie type print with birds. She has great lighting in assorted colors with the pagoda lantern style and greek key trim; and last colorful pillows with my favorite being the silhouette pillow. Check out some of my favorite Tobi Fairley interior design images that I think were inspirations for her great new products.

Athens Print Fabric which is Tobi's interpretation of Greek key, if you look closely, I know I see some T's in there.

Patriotic Inspirations

In honor of our great country, I found some patriotic inspirations for your home. Whether its a simple star ceiling mount, a bone inlay flag frame, or something as large as the painted American flag from Pottery Barn. Stars, and Stripes, Red, White and Blue, show your inner patriotism!

I am heading to the beach for the 4th so wanted to leave you with a little early treat!

Tobi Fairley

I was first drawn to this photo by the coral pillow and Natural Curiosities book, which we know I love! The designer, Tobi Fairley was named one of the Top 20 Young Designers in 2009 by Traditional Home magazine. Tobi's look is described as "fresh and simple combining colorful, large-scale prints with classic furniture styles for a beautiful and functional result." I am drawn to her unique use of color, and some use of coral/shells. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did. Check out Tobi's blog.
