John Derian's NYC Apartment

I was dying to see the interiors of John Derian's East Village apartment, thinking it would like walking inside a living Natural Curiosities display. I saw his awesome display at Bergdorf's a few years and was mesmerized with all his neat découpage antique style trays and paperweights featuring botanicals, animals, insects, vintage maps and cities, quotes, etc! It's hard to choose a favorite.Check out the beautiful interior images of Derian's home captured by The Selby.

Windsor Smith

I wanted to share some of the beautiful work from California based designer, Windsor Smith. She is known to mix antiques with modern elements. Windsor Smith even designed the Veranda showhouse (which also featured works of other designers) that was purchased by Gwneth Paltrow, who we know has impeccable taste. You can bring a little Windsor Smith into your home as she has a fabric line with Kravat, her own home line and Room in a Box design service.

Way to break up a large living room into seperate spaces. Notice the horse in the rigth hand door :)

A room with a patterned floor offers variation against the hardwoods

Herringbone patterned floor and love the framed intaglios

Color coordinated books for the library

Large ottoman is the center focal point of the room and the double sided sofa makes two seating areas.

Exotic touch mixed with the modern with the marrakech type shape of the side tables to the pagoda style  light in the kitchen.

Detail in the styling

Marble and pink feminine bathroom

Antique silver mirrors paired with calcutta marble. Scalloped mirror from Windsor Smith.

Neutral and symmetric bathroom

Hallway styling with Hermes orange boxes and beautiful staged bar

Chic mudrooms

Tartan and wood gives these rooms a masculine feel.

The most glamourous stable I have ever seen.

Jen Langston

I came across the great work of Jen Langston based in Charleston, South Carolina. Lagston draws inspiration from the Low country historic properties and its tropical aesthetic, while bringing even more exotic tastes to the mix, thanks to her travels in Europe, Asia, South America, and more. Check out a few of her projects which have a simple, neutral palette offset by great woods, accessories providing pop of color and the architecture itself.
