In my guest bedroom which is one of my favorite rooms in my house, I have a white matelasse coverlet and 2 large scalloped matching Euro Pillows, then from there I can add fun pillows, blanket or duvet folded at the foot of the bed. This is another way to update a room but keep existing duvet you have and work around it.
Here the white matelasse coverlet is used with the folded duvet at the foot of the bed by Katie Rosenfeld Design
Colored matelasse with printed duvet at foot of the bed from Tobi Fairley
Another example of printed duvet folded at the bottom so the print is not as overpowering from Coastal Living
Love the prints in the Tobi Fairley picture.

I love the idea of using the duvet at the end of the bed with a white coverlet underneath. Just feels right!

My daughter has a pink and orange bedroom, such a fresh and pretty scheme. Love all your examples, but my favourite is the grey and pink. I also like to use a neutral & plain matelasse coverlet and then add colour and pattern with pillows, throws or a duvet cover. It's a great way to change up your bedding without breaking the bank every time. Thanks for commenting on my dipped chair makeover, it was fun and I'm sure I'll be "dipping" more stuff!
ReplyDeleteLOVE pink/orange and pink/teal combos. I just sewed up some pillows for my bedroom. I think I need to order some more fun prints like you showed up at the top, though. You can never have enough fabric!
ReplyDeleteThey all look wonderful. Cant wait to see the combo she likes.
ReplyDeletebright & cheery color palettes!
ReplyDeleteThese are great boards. One of my all-time favorite color combinations is pink and orange so I love the first one the most. Throw in a monogram.... and perfection!
