It's Chinese New Years and it's the year of the horse. To celebrate I wanted to feature some of my favorite equine themed interiors! These interiors show all different elements added from horse prints, throws to accessories for styling.

TV's Above The Mantel

In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl I thought a television design related post would be suitable. In the past I have featured posts showing ways to hide your tv above your mantel, but this year I am embracing the TV and featuring inspirations showing the tv above the mantel! Windsor Smith

I wanted to share some of the beautiful work from California based designer, Windsor Smith. She is known to mix antiques with modern elements. Windsor Smith even designed the Veranda showhouse (which also featured works of other designers) that was purchased by Gwneth Paltrow, who we know has impeccable taste. You can bring a little Windsor Smith into your home as she has a fabric line with Kravat, her own home line and Room in a Box design service.

Sarah Vickers Preppy Closet

One of my favorite preppy eye candy fashion blogs is Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls. Vickers is a cross between Kate Middleton meets New England prep. She posted a picture of her new cedar lined walk in closet she received for Christmas which was beautiful. We all know I love a great closet and this beautifully showcases her amazing wardobe as well!

Northern Lights in Iceland

I am starting to have a little time to upload some of my pictures from my camera from our Iceland and Germany trip. Here are a few photos of the Northern Lights we saw which was on my bucket list. On our first full night we got the call from the photograthat they lights were out and he quickly picked us up and we headed about 5 miles outside the city to get away from the light pollution. We were by the water and near the lighthouse. The ligths were lower activity, but at least we still got to see them.

We went out with Olgeir Andresson who is a famed Northern Lights photographer in Iceland whose photos have been featured in Times Square, on the Iceland postage stamp and various websites and publications. He helped me set up the tripod in the dark, get my camera settings right to be able to shoot the lights and the motivation and company to stand out in the chilly weather for 2 1/2 hours. So if you go to Iceland and want to go out to see the lights and photograph them with the pro, definitely look him up!

This is a little blurry since we had to try to stay still for 15 seconds which was the exposure we had to use in the dark.
